About Medina Azahara

Medina Azahara is one of the most important archaeological sites in Europe and one of the greatest expressions of the power achieved by the Caliphate of Córdoba during the 10th century. Founded by Caliph Abd al-Rahman III as a palatial city and seat of government, it stood out for the richness of its buildings, gardens, and ceremonial spaces. Although it was destroyed only a few decades after its construction, its remains provide a remarkable insight into one of the most brilliant periods in the history of Al-Andalus. In 2018, it was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Important information

• Children must be included in the reservation, as their ticket will be required when entering the monument.
• Be at the meeting point 10 minutes before the tour begins.
• The departure time varies depending on the booking option chosen. If you choose the option with transport from Cordoba, you must be at the meeting point 15 minutes before the time indicated on the voucher. If, on the other hand, you decide to go to the site by your own means, wait for the guide at the shuttle bus stop and do not go up to the site on your own.
• Ticket to Medina Azahara is free for European Union citizens. For visitors from outside the EU, the cost is €1.50 per adult, payable at the ticket office.
• During periods of high demand, bookings are subject to availability. The amount will be temporarily held until confirmation. We will contact you within a maximum of 72 hours (sooner if your selected date is approaching).
• Please check your spam or promotions folder, especially if you use hotmail, outlook or yahoo.

Cancellation Policy

• Free cancellation and modification of the reservation up to 48 hours in advance.
• No cancellations or modifications are allowed after 48 hours prior to the visit.
• If you don’t attend the tour, it will be considered a no-show and you will not be entitled to any refund.
• To request changes or cancellations, you must communicate them in writing to the following e-mail address: soporte@mytoptour.es.

Meeting point

• If you choose the bus option from Cordoba, you must be at the Paseo de la Victoria bus stop (Glorieta Cruz Roja), in front of the Eurostars Palace Hotel, 10-15 minutes before departure time.
• If you decide to go by car, you should be at the site a little before the time indicated on the voucher. You will have to leave your vehicle in the Medina Azahara car park and wait next to the shuttle bus stop. Do not go up to the site alone, you will have to wait for the guide to arrive with the rest of the group from Cordoba.

How to get there

• By car: the parking lot of the site is public.
• Taxi: there are several cab ranks in the historic center of Córdoba.
